Tablet Travel: Apple Unveils the iPad 2

The new iPad will come in two colors: Black and white.

Fans of the original iPad and those looking to dive into tablet computing for travel or myriad other purposes will likely applaud Apples latest iteration. Among the key changes: The all-new design is 33 percent thinner (now 8.8 millimeters) and up to 15 percent lighter (now 1.3 pounds), the new dual-core A5 processor speeds up overall performance and enhances graphics capabilities, and there are now two cameras installed - one on the back for shooting photos or recording HD video and another on the front for video chats. The new smart cover is pretty slick, too.Further blurring the lines between high-tech devices like televisions, computers, smartphones, this new blend of gadgetry continues to offer new possibilities and appeal to all, but particularly to travelers. As innovation in construction and capabilities make it easier to take tablets along and stay in touch in new ways while far from home, the devices become both more useful and more fun. And for current iPad owners thinking about upgrading to the new model, ZDNet recommends selling your old model to Gazelle to help finance your iPad2 purchase.
